6.32 calmap problem

Half throttle or 3/4 throttle the car runs great.

At wide open throttle the car knocks heavy.

The timing is low .

Does anyone know what happens at wide open throttle.

How much timing do you have in the top end?

Did you account for the additional 6 degrees that is always there?


Was this on race gas or pump gas?

15 deg timing on pump 93 octane.

I though I posted back on this. Guess not.

Timing is not the issue with your motor.

You have plenty of injector. Almost too much but it will work just fine.

I suggest you have a look at your fuel pump make sure it is working correctly or it may be that the pump is not big enough.

If you know that is good, start adding more fuel to the top of the map.

If you are knocking a lot be careful, that means you are detonating for lack of fuel.

Do you have a way to check A/F ratio or EGTs? That would be a big help.

i have a egt gauge the problem is it's a vdo so it's slow.

As i creap up to wot the car knocks hard.

I guess i should check my coil pack.

The fuel pumps are double pumpers. I even tryed it with both pumps on and still the same.

Check to make sure the second pump is coming on.

What you are describing is what happens when the pump does not kick in at all.
