4.1 cast 484

I found this 4.1 with the 484 casting number,it checked out good no cracks,I know the 291 is the better block,Any input or advice on using this block or wait until I find a 291, have anyone ran this block with no problems?

I've got the 291 casting my self and I think the diff is in deck thickness if I remember right. You might wnat to go to GN/TType.org and look in the ID guides. I think they have the diffs noted.

I have a 484 with cracks in the deck near by the head bolt holes...oh yeah, I am also using cast pistons.

It runs fine, but I haven't put much power to it yet.

Let me know if you dont want the 484 block-ill take it off your hands. i found a 4291 std block but after i magged it , it shows a small crackin the front plate.
