I mean i have a 84 t type so I have the trans and rear end but they both would need rebuilt guess it would just depend on price for the whole package

I just pulled a 87 complete engine. I have a video of it running $2500 for it. You should be fine with your transmission. BQ is a good tranny and a GN 8.5 rear end last a long time. Unless you have had some really high horse power or really high miles, you should be ok with the trans you have and rear.
