1989 3800 v6....parts swap...

howdy gentlemen, and ladies...new to the site but been around other car forums for years (camaroz28.com for 10yrs, LS1TECH for 2 yrs under the same screen name)


currently have an 89 buick lesabre ....the family car, 4 door kind...that blew a motor. lost compression on one cylinder, and its not worth rebuilding.

looking to strip it down and part some of it out for some money...


wondering what kind of engine parts are swappable to the turbo 3.8s you guys are using? heads? wiring? TB? intake manifold?

ANYTHING?

alternator is fairly new...that's on ebay now
starter is 3 months old and going on ebay when i get it pulled
bosch FPR #237 is fairly new
power steering pump seems in good shape

hell even the fenders are pretty decent...not sure what other cars they will go on.


ANY of this stuff of interest to you turbobuick guys??

Some of the sensors are the same. Not sure about the alternator. Different valve covers.

I have a rebuilt 87 lasaber 3.8 motor and trans-i spent $1800. on the motor and $1200. on the trans for my dad and the 4 days later got sideswipped totalled the back of the car so i took the motor and tranny out.its been sitting in my garage if you want i ll make you a real good deal on them.

88-90 are Vin "C" 3800s with roller cam and gerotor pumps.

cool....some interest. and some information....i'm new to these engines. ask me about a 305TPI, 90's LT1 or the LSx engines and i know my stuff...

but these little weak v6s :wink: :wink: are new.


49-blues....car is rusting to pieces...unless you can sell the engine and trans to me for under $250 shipped...i'm not interested. car just isn't worth it to spend money on like that.

as for the keys.....planning on diving this weekend. winds are finally calming down.

i'll be spearfishing....no sissy hook/line for me.
