1986 grand national vin check please

That car is close to being one of the last Regals built for the 1986 model year. The last 86 Regal to roll of the line was VIN sequence 459261. Yours is only 857 Regals before it. Records show Buick made 91,229 Regals of all types in 1986. The VIN sequence actually started at 200000 in case you're wondering why the numbers don't add up. :)

Eric,

Looking at this one for sale:

1G4GK477XGP400003

What can you tell me about it?

I've seen it on eBay a few times. It aint the third car built like the seller claims. Check out the build date on the door or cowl tag. IIRC it looked clean but just an average GN. Nothing special. From what I can tell with the info I have the first 86 TR built is VIN sequence 201039. I'm assuming Job One was 200001. No hard way to tell how fast they were kicking these off the assembly line. If you assume the rate was 90 cars per hour and split that by the four different divisions than thats about 22 Regals per hour. TRs accounted for about 9% of the total production of Regals. Than get into the fact that there were twice as many Chevys as Buicks than that figure could mean 1 or 2 TRs per hour rolling off the line. Unfortunetly I dont have any idea when the 200000 sequence stopped. I have VINs in the 230000 range so if you subtract 59,261 from 91,229 we can probably guess that 231968 might be the last car in that sequence.
