18 psi too much

I got this car at 17,000 miles and it now has 32,000 miles on it and I still don't fully understand it. I think I should sell it and get something with a V8 and a quadrajet on top of it.

Why do you want to go slower?

Stick with it, listen, read and learn. You'll be fine. Besides, there are plenty of guys that can wrench on the car and make it run the way you want it to.
