    Hooker Headers???

I used to have Hooker headers on my old GN. Ran 10.70s with them. No complaints as far as street driving. Didn't like the design of the pipe that the turbine housing bolts to, though. Had a tendency to work itself loose over time. I had to add a support bracket to keep things in their place. At...

M/T 275/60 Drag Radials on Stock T Wheels?

Thanks, Russ! Think I may go ahead and swap the 275s over to my stock T wheels. The Weld Drag Stars are just a bit too "showy".

How well does an older Hooker exhaust flow?

Been in the 10s through my Hooker cat-back exhaust.

M/T 275/60 Drag Radials on Stock T Wheels?

I currently have my drag radials on a set of Weld Drag Stars but would like to stick them on my stock T wheels for a stealthier look. Has anyone tried it? Any rubbing?

    Clear Coating

Chances are a shop won't just clear the car. The paint is so thin on these cars the second they sand it to prep it for paint they will blow right through the paint. It will have to be repainted. You get what you pay for when it comes to paint work. Price will vary from shop to shop and on how...

    GN1 Headers

Any and all headers may or may not need modification for installation. Every car is different and every set of headers can be slightly different (regardless who built them) which leads to minor mods required for them to fit. If you don't want to modify something in order to make it fit, your...

    GN1 Headers

Same headers Turbo Regal Custom Parts sells. They are a Kenne Bell copy. Here is my review of them... http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/general-turbo-buick-tech/274267-tr-custom-parts-stainless-headers-3-downpipe-46mm-gate.html

    Can't stand the drone anymore

I have Turbo Regal Custom Parts headers (Kenne Bell headers basically) as well as their 3" downpipe and a Hooker cat-back. No drone. Very quiet combo. I've been 10s with the Hooker cat-back and the stock headers. Haven't been to the track with the TRCP heads and DP yet.

Not a darn thing wrong with the TA-49! I loved mine. Should have never gotten rid of it!

    Atmosphere vented Ext wastgate

When I ran my old GN as a dedicated race car, I vented the gate straight down. That said, I have been 10s with the gate routed back into the exhaust. Since my T is a street car, I prefer it quiet so the gate is routed back into the downpipe. I like having a whisper quiet 10 second street car...

    Atmosphere vented Ext wastgate

I never liked the sound of an open wastegate on a street car. It makes an otherwise quiet turbo car sound obnoxious. Stealth goes right out the window. Plus, since the exhaust coming out of the gate is pre-turbo, it sounds like an open exhaust V6. Not the most appealing sound. My .02.

    Voltage at alternator versus ScanMaster

Ordered an LS1 3.5" MAF, 4" to 3.5" reducer (I have a 4" MAF pipe) and a 3.5" K&N conical filter. Assuming my rich condition is from the reman 3" MAF, this should fix the problem. If the MAF isn't the issue, the 3.5" MAF is a better match to my combo anyway. Going to take a closer look at the...

    Voltage at alternator versus ScanMaster

I think it may be time to step up to an LS1 3.5" MAF. Even if that's not where my rich condition is coming from, a 3.5" MAF would be better for my combo than the smaller factory 3".

    Voltage at alternator versus ScanMaster

MAF is a reman GM unit. I had originally thought the MAF was the cause, too. I was getting a MAF code so I bought a "new" reman MAF. Rich condition continues. Of course that doesn't mean the reman MAF is actually good...
