    GN1 connecting rods

I'm in the process of installing these. I got the long rod stroker kit. They are labeled on my invoice as SCAT H-beam rods. The bushings required just a quick ride on the stones to fit the pins. The hardware is a no name 7/16 bolt. I just went ahead and ordered ARP #200-6006 bolts to be safe

Anyone powder coated their aluminium vacuum block?

I had mine done. My coater masked off the gasket mating surface and the fins to match the plenum which he also coated. Not the greatest pic but it gives you an idea how it looks.

    Electric cutout set ups

I have HR motor mounts, havent noticed any obvious signs of it hitting the frame. As for the leaking exhaust sound... I have my dump open 98% of the time so that's a non-issue for me :-)

    Electric cutout set ups

This is the best pic I could get for now. It's the QTP cutout. It took a little enlarging of the mounting holes to clock it so it would clear the frame but it fits.

    GN car shows

Hello all! I just stumbled on this discussion and wanted to say count me in for the 27th! I'm in eastern NC about 3 hrs from RC's shop but a TR meeting is well worth the drive!

Any tuners in Wilmington NC area?

I just dropped the motor back in the car and am planning on driving to the "Back to the Beach" car show in Kure Beach, NC tomorrow. Was wondering if there was anyone in that area that could lend a hand/knowledge with tuning it either Saturday or Sunday while I'm in the area? Also wondering if...

    Priming motor with Vaseline question

I didn't need to pull the cam sensor out which is why I didn't prime it on the stand, maybe I'll do that next time. Thanks for all the input! Posted from the TurboBuick.Com mobile app

    Priming motor with Vaseline question

I'm using Vaseline and I packed it with the motor on the stand. When I mounted the tranny up I had to rotate the flywheel to get all the converter bolts in as usual. Did spinning the flywheel maybe a full revolution disrupt the Vaseline in the housing to the point I have to re-pack it? Every...

    How worried should I be?

Or should I use a garden hose to flush the coolant passages? I think I read somewhere that the minerals in the water could be an issue with this.

    How worried should I be?

Ok I feel a little better about my situation but after rmar's comment my concern is now for Charlie's next date! Does anyone have any tips on cleaning or flushing the block while it's on the stand or do I just keep hitting it with air and brake cleaner as good as possible before reinstalling it...

    How worried should I be?

I was cleaning my block in preparation for re-installing my heads and found something that worries me. I was using the compressor to blowout the threads for the studs and I noticed debris smacking me in the face coming from the water jackets. I gathered some of the bigger pieces and snapped...

which valve springs for Comp 220/220

I see what you're saying about the spring rates and it makes sense to me. I'm keeping the lifters that are in the car, unfortunately I don't know which ones they are. I wasn't involved with the build when they were ordered and installed. The Invoice from the shop just says "Roller Lifters...

which valve springs for Comp 220/220

So you recommend the 26918 installed at 1.730 over the 26926 or the PAC 1203?

which valve springs for Comp 220/220

Ok. It looks like the comp 918's have a seat pressure around 130 so I'm assuming they aren't the way to go in my case. Any recommendations that'll have 150-160?
