I had that issue years ago with my T-Type. It would race around on its own for a minute and then idle and run fine. I had a few vacuum leaks and my IAT was cracked. When I replaced that it stopped.

Like others said you should wait 6 months on a new paint job. At that point if you want to polish and wax you can do it by hand. No reason to use a buffer on new paint.

Ran across this pic on another site. Like other said they used to be good. Not so much now. Talked to someone at the local Advance Auto and he said they won't even carry the Fram oil filters anymore.
