Check the positive battery connection on the starter. Main power feed for the car comes from there. Break up your posts there man, so we can follow and try to help with each problem a little easier.
I.M.O. put the 87 long block in it and drive & enjoy it while you rebuild the 85 long block. Everything will bolt up on the 87 long block but obviously you will need a plug for the oil drain hole in the front of the block. The 87 engine could be in fantastic shape or it could be on borrowed...
I think thats an ASC sunroof, looks like the one on my 84. Stainless roof moulding & glass trim. Wish they were black. @ Jim from Philly, mine has chrome switch.

Your thermocouple is a type K good to 1260 deg C (2300 deg F). You probably need a small plug to hook it up to your meter. Ask a industrial supply store for a miniture male type K thremocouple connector. Its body will be yellow. All thermocouples the red lead is the negative lead. Hope it helps.
Finally getting around to installing my Razor's kit on my hot air car. Every thing very straight forward and easy except for a good location to install the supplied overflow bottle. Anyone have any suggestions.
