Long time no post... Fuel tank ??s

Bought the 307C. Looked at the baffles and yes, it is nothing like the plastic one in my GN tank. Also, I cannot see how gas gets into the rectangular tub that is the baffle. It looks like it's isolated from the rest of the tank.

I guess I'll have to get the 307C and a Cutlass neck and do what I did before. Cut off and reweld. I have no problem doing that, I was just looking for a cleaner solution.

Long time no post... Fuel tank ??s

Thanks for all the replies! The filler necks are different and the locations are a little different. When I originally installed the GN tank in there, the filler neck inlet hit the top of the opening. I cut it off and cut off my Cutlass neck from the old tank and welded the Cutlass neck on. This...

Long time no post... Fuel tank ??s

I see a GM307A or GM307C (rockauto), both with filler necks. Since I have a Cutlass, I need to buy one without the neck and buy a Cutlass neck. Rockauto lists the GM3C as the filler neck-less one. There is no listing for a GM307 without the neck on rockauto. Maybe I should look elsewhere for...

Long time no post... Fuel tank ??s

I guess I could just make sure I keep a reasonable amount of fuel in it. Or not do holeshots with very little fuel in the tank... ;) What is the Spectra part# that is for the EFI application? I can never tell if it's the right one on sites like rockauto...

Long time no post... Fuel tank ??s

Hi all, I am a member here since I am using a GN tank to feed an EFI'ed BBO 455 in my Olds Cutlass. My question is if anyone knows of an aftermarket source for GN tanks that have the correct plastic baffle. I really need a new tank. The one I have in the Cultass had sat open for quite some time...

    Trans speedometer gears

Ooh, the nylon screw thing is a great idea. I will have to take the governor apart and slightly bend the tabs in that hold the check balls in place. They seem to be too far out since the balls can fall out if you alternately swing the weights all the way in and rotate the whole assembly upside...

    Trans speedometer gears

So, when the balls are in place, no matter what orientation you hold the governor in your hand, the balls should not fall out even as the weights are flopping around? Mine did. I will do the screw thing on it for the spring, but weigh it first before the screw is added so I can grind some...

    Trans speedometer gears

Well, the reason this all started was because I had high rpm only upshifts. My searching around here taught me that this was most likely the governor spring fell out. This past weekend, I got the pan off, governor out and YEP, the spring was in the pan. I pulled the governor, and put the spring...

Cool, I will let you know this weekend. Thanks a bunch!

    Trans speedometer gears

A 3.73:1 rear uses a 10 drive like you said. The driven one is probably a 29 since that's what calculates out. With a 3.08 gear and a 10 drive gear, a 24 driven would be necessary. However, I have to pull the governor anyway since the governor spring is probably laying in the pan. I figured...

    Trans speedometer gears

Ya, a green 29 tooth driven gear would match the 12 tooth red drive gear for my application. Used gears are fine, this installation will probably only be in this configuration for a coupla years...

    Trans speedometer gears

Thanks a bunch amigo, I will have the pan off this weekend and I will report on what gears are already in there. Yes, maybe we can make a trade! :D

    Trans speedometer gears

Anyone know a good source with a good selection of drive and driven gears? I need to get a 13 tooth drive and a 31 tooth driven gear for a '78 Cutlass Salon into which I put a rebuilt KZF 200-4R (one of my other cars). I have a 3.08:1 geared posi rear so the speedometer reads way low. This trans...

    Fuel sender/pump assembly

Hi all, long time no post. I have my EFI Cutlass about ready to go and I am installing the new fuel sender/pump assembly in the modified Buick tank. I need to find a source for the mating electrical connector to wire the whole thing up like a stock turbo Buick. Does anyone have a source for the...
