hey all looking for a nice straight pair of not so rusty bumper support shock absorbers soon as possible, going to replace the bumper fillers and figured i'd fix the annoying crooked bumper.
thanks :)
there is the crack and i welded her up with a mig welder the only one i had laying around but it did the job...
thing is there were no gaskets on it when i took it off, is that how it came from the factory??? thinking someone had this header off before... is the gasket from a regular parts...
i'm pretty sure they are tubular steel headers, they are not regular exhaust manifolds... but not sure how to tell if they are cast, did they make cast iron headers?
thanks charlie! yeah been running the searches for 83-85 pass side... it looks like i'll just have to weld them, which should be...
i've been searching the internet for months and cannot find anywhere to purchase just the driver's side header... i'm tight on funds so buying the set is out of the question, i may have to just weld up the holes if it's possible unless anyone knows of an affordable place to purchase one?
thanks all
thank you guys for the help! hmm i did make the secondary butterfly spring loose... tried to look for the pull off, are you referring to the choke pull off and how do i adjust that?
that could be it, it was producing a rich like smoke from the tailpipe when i punched it before and i did do some adjusting to the little screw for the secondaries on the pass side of the carb... is that tiny flathead screw used to adjust the opening rate? also been trying to figure out how to...
replaced the o2 sensor finally but unfortunately have 0 money left to buy a scan tool... she's still sluggish until higher rpms are reached, also stumbles off the line. i've adjusted the timing to about 15 over tdc, have checked for vacuum leaks and have tried to adjust the carb a bunch. there...
hey thanks for the responses! i've not adjusted the tps, is that required? the clutch seems to be engaging correctly, the trans was just completely rebuilt. i have not replaced the oxygen sensor, however that was my next step and the o2 sensor is in. i suppose that should be my next step yeah?
My 83 buick t-type was throwing an check engine code for the tps so replaced it, still getting the bog at acceleration right before boost and the occasional check engine light after running the car for awhile then boosting at 60mph cruise speed when dropping into passing gear. trans was just...
finally got some news from the guy doing the rebuild. he's saying i'll need the front pump, direct clutch drum and torque converter... i'm running low on the dough so i'm ordering the parts myself instead of letting the rebuilder source them, which probably cost more and possibly be cheap parts...
hey charlie once i get the car back i'll get a wide shot from the front for ya! i'm not sure what the intended purpose of the red hose is but since i deleted the charcoal cannister i hooked the hose directly to the fuel tank vent line... was thinking of adding a small inline charcoal filter?
