    Help: Instantly Dropping Fuel Pressure

I've determined it to be the fuel pump check valve, as another test where I clamped the fuel inlet and outlet lines after the pump has run showed that there was no pressure drop across the injectors. That coupled with switching of regulators only leaves the fuel pump check valve. As the car...

    Help: Instantly Dropping Fuel Pressure

I have a problem that is quite perplexing to me, perhaps someone can aid me in finding the problem and hopefully a solution. The Problem With gauge on fuel rail (with schrader core removed and with it in), fuel pressure is 39 PSI running at operating temperature and as soon as the key is turned...

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

Shipped to Michigan... Some sort of supplier problem with the fuel pump. That's what I get for paying without a guarantee delivery date I guess. Whole plan to get the GN running nice over the holiday break ruined. Lessons learned, will not order from them again. As a side note, am taking...

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

Thanks for the continued replies. After jumping it so the pump always runs, I'm satisfied with it just staying like that until I get the new pump and regulator. Whenever it does get shipped... 7 weeks and counting.

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

Yep that worked, thanks for that. Now the question becomes, how do you revert back to the relay

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

Just a guess, I don't have a gauge to measure but when the schrader valve is depressed after the fuel pump is manually run, fuel shoots up to the intake line which to me is enough indication of good pressure for start-up. Seems I'll end up waiting for the new pump/hotwire kit so I can install...

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

Only when put 12v to the test connection to manually run the pump. Key turns/cranking yields no fuel pressure at the rail

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

I can't see it being an ignition problem based on: Fuel pump not priming and it starting/running fine before running out of fuel.

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

I added 2 more gallons of 91, turned the key a few times, turned it over, checked the schrader and had no fuel pressure. I again put 12v to the pump, checked for pressure and had strong fuel pressure out of the valve. My only guess now is that for some reason the ECM is just not controlling the...

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

I pulled the radio fuse so I could for sure know if the fuel pump is priming when the key is set to on. It does not prime. I again put power to the grey connector behind the alt and the pump runs. I'll give the rest of the suggestions a try in a few hours when I get back. Thanks for the tips

Ran out of Gas - Now won't start

After my '87 stock GN ran out of gas, I refilled it with 2 gallons and attempted to restart with no avail. - Refilled with 91 octane with some fuel stabilizer added in (as it is currently in storage)(Quantity of stabilizer as per it's instructions) - I then replaced the old fuel filter with a...

Don't have any pictures of the old mans project, I'll snap a few when I head back there to get the GN running good. All I have in it's current state:

Thanks for the advice. I did read through the new turbo owners and it had a lot of information I definitely will be doing. Currently it idles a little rough and fairly high. It has 166k KM's on it and seems to have had a fairly hard life, but I'll bring her back. I'm new to forced induction and...

Wanted one of these things since I was 12 (which actually isn't very long ago), random kijiji search lead me to this gem. Now all I do all day is read about what makes them tick (I don't have any automotive turbo experience). Currently: Runs rough, high idle Seems mostly stock to the eye Needs...
