How do you set up the OD clutch pack?

The ASTG says:

steel...friction...steel...steel...friction...backing plate.

The way it was done in my trans was:

steel...friction...steel...friction...steel...backing plate on the steel.

Now, what it the preferred procedure?

TIA,

The way it should be stock is

The was astg says, "steel, friction, steel, steel, friction, backing plate.

If you want to spice things up a bit, you could take off .070 from the o/d piston, get 1 extra od friction and the stack up would go: Steel, Friction,Steel,Friction,Steel,Friction, Backing plate.:D

Thanks Mike.

I could still read the print on the frictions that came out of the OD so it seems like it was holding good with the steel - friction - steel - friction - steel - backing plate.

I believe I will do it the steel - friction - steel - steel - friction - backing plate and see how it works.
