thanks for the replies guys. I've been thinking its the band as well. Looks I'll probably be tearing the tranny back out AGAIN
Is the 2-3 & 3-4 shift firm, no mush/slip?
2-3 Shift
--frequent no shift/flair @ WOT, pretty mushy
3-4 Shift
--shifts hard @ WOT, no mush/slip.
Just ordered the pressure gauge today from Amazon. Thanks for the links.
Could be several things but a huge red light is the fact that you mentioned you went through "every notch" on TV cable. If you backed the tv off to "every notch" and went wot then u noticed the shifts got real soft and flared then your trans is now in need of frictions.
Here's the info:
I rebuilt the tranny myself a few months ago and idiotically never bought a pressure gauge.
Took it for a few light test drives after the rebuild and noticed 1-2 was shifting way too hard and way to soon.
I thought to myself "fuck it"
and took it for a few more test drives.
After one particular WOT blast from a dig it wouldn't shift out of first anymore
Checked the TV cable and realized it had been misadjusted the whole time.
I went thorough all the notches on the TV cable looking for a spot where it would at least shift out of first.
Found a spot and I've been driving it like this ever since, procrastinating having to tear it back out again.
Now dreading my fiancee's upcoming bitching and complaining about how much time and money I've dumped into my car BLAH::BLAH::BLAH
NOTE TO DUMBASS SELF :
--Check the main line pressure & TV
--Follow proper break in procedures
--Give it at least 50-100 miles for the band to properly seat before going WOT.
--Break up with fiancee if she shit talks the GN again
--Don't be such a
DUMBASS, you
DUMBASS you
