What size are you guys running? I'm looking at the 275-60R15 and the 325/50R15. I'm fairly certain the 275's will work but I'd like to get as much rubber on the pavement as possible. Will the 325's fit? I will be mounting them on Centerline Convo Pro 15 X 8.5 wheels. Any thoughts?

You're not gonna get any bigger than a 275 under there without rolling the fenders, but you'll still have frame rub problems on the backside. So, you can forget the 325's

Most run 255/60's. I have baby M/T's 235/60's:frown: HOWEVER, they dead-hook at the track with zero shake/spin on a 10-12 PSI launch:biggrin:

Thanks for the advice. I believe I've had 275-60R15's on the car before but Its been a while!

i have 295/55r15 on mine, i just had to roll the fender lip and the clear the frame just fine

do u have a picture of ur car with that tire on it? also what size wheel and backspace? im thinkin about goin to that size.
thanks Danny

ill try to get it outside and snap a pic (the motor is out right now). the wheels are 9" wide weld pro stars, i dont remember what the backspace is.

I'm running 255/60-15 on factory 7" rims. Even punching it from an idle, once the boost hits, the tires start spinning like crazy. So frustrating sometimes. I'm tempted to run slicks.

I do have some 8" wheels lying around. (wish i had 9s), so I may try a different setup or perhaps wider MT's, like the 275/50's. How do some of you guys do 5psi launches on the street?

My 275's dont hit the frame but they rub on the outer fender trim... I think I have a pic... Gimme a minute

Now that I read the entire thread I dont think anyone requested 275 60 pics but here they are anyway

I have 275/60 drag radials and I can't launch on any boost or it will just spin. Even from a dead stop punch it rolls out about 20' and spins

Might want to look at your suspension instead of your tires

275's are perfect. You need the correct backspacing on the rim to make sure they dont rub, has nothing to do with the tire. A 4 inch backspacing puts it just about perfect. I run 3.75 backspacing and dont rub, but my tires are out just a touch more then I want. I had air in airbags in this pick. Rear is lower normally.

Might I add a question ...can 275s fiton the stock Gn wheels ..wat is the biggest concern with fitting 275s on stock wheels just in the rear of car if they can fit.....

Are you going for looks or function? A 275/60 has the best of both worlds imo. I've gone mid 1.4 60' and my friend just went 1.33 in the 60' with his gn. If you can't hook on a 275 dr you should be spending some time researching suspension setups. May have to open the wallet a little though.

JRS1,

Can we see a pic of the whole car?? I run the 275-60 now but do have two sets of brand new Goodyear Drag Radials.....

1. 295-55-15
2. 295-65-15

choices-choices-choices....

What are your tire pressures set at. Does this car have the limited slip diff?
I have had the 275/60 in stock wheels for the past 3 years. I like them
