Well this large white truck dropped something off here today...

I must say, These are Massive! Very high quality and everything you need to do the install..

The fronts came pre-mounted on OEM spindles (also available in Drop spindles).

Seems to fill up those 18" CCW's very well....

I will be doing a complete install thread with pictures and write up's documenting everything so look for it soon in the Brakes section! ;)

Congrats Scot!!! those look awesome..... im planning on upgrading some things on my brake system after my engine build/parts acquisition ends.....

and yes your swaybar is still on the list;)

Now that is baller status!Gorgeous........ how much is a kit like that?

$1,595 for the front set up
$1,295 for the rear set up.

Not bad at all considering what you all get and the quality of these brakes. If your planing on doing a C5-ZO6 swap into your car on the front look to spend right at $2,000 or More once your done buying everything needed. These are $500 cheaper and come with everything needed all in two boxes and already mounted on spindles and I would bet the comparison is very close if not better.

Going the less expensive route on some things may seem like a good way to go in the beginning but sometimes the modifying, labor, rounding up the parts from 4-6 different company's ends up costing the same if not more than just buying the good stuff right from the start!

We spend Thousands and even Tens of Thousands of dollars on these cars to make them go fast but often skimp on the braking. I think the braking should be just as important or More.

Sweet!!! Gotta love those Baer Brakes! Have a set on my 91 Notch and it was by far one of the better mods on the car. As an aside, I decided to upgrade the brakes when I couldn't stop (after trapping at 125) because of horrible stock brakes and almost ended up crashing into the sand pit at the end of the track. Spending lots of time and effort into going fast is great, but there are significant benefits in being able to stop as well. From then on, brakes are one of the first mods I do.

Congrats! Sweet kit for a sweet ride!

Looks Great!..your going to have alot of brake dust to clean each week...heheheheh..who makes that rim? I'd like ones like that, but more detailing in the spokes, your rears still have a parking brake?

Brakes?

I really agree its a great investment if your going to keep the car for long term which i am.One question do baer brakes work on stock wheels?

Yes, BAER introduced a new SS4+ front that features a 4 piston caliper mounted to an 11" 2pc rotor. Below is a pic of it

This is largest brake they can fit in a 15" wheel. They offer this build on spindles, or in parts (like shown) so you can modify your own. As pictured (with powder option) runs $995.00.

This is an aluminum caliper, stainless pistons, dust and weather sealed (meets DOT specs), 11" 2pc rotor (directional so specific left and right), billet hubs (with timken tapered bearings), hoses, pads, fittings etc.

This has all the benefits of their larger brakes just in a smaller package! ;)

I almost forgot the rear system!

(Copied from Rick Elam)
For the rear They have a couple of options. For the street, we can do an SS4 rear that features the same 4 piston caliper (has smaller pistons to be sized correctly for the rear) on a 12" directional 1pc rear rotor. This is designed specifically for the g-body rear (is a bolt on) and the caliper bracket is designed with some "float" in it so when the factory c-clip axles move the caliper will be able to accept the axle movement without having issues. Due to the drum in hat park brake this is a larger 1pc rotor so fitment in some 15" wheels might be difficult (planning to check a GN and T-type wheel shortly). Rear in a powder finish runs $1295.00 (clear anodized shown is $100 less).

For the drag racers that have a modified rear with a bearing on axle (such as a 9") or 9" ends. We can do the same SS4+ on the rear as the front with No park brake. Rear (pic on the right) with hoses and powder finish would run $825.00. (clear shown is $100 less).

Many of the street/strip guys I recommend to just do the front. It will transform the car (most braking is done up front), and the drums work best when launching with the foot brake due to the surface area of the drum compared to the disk.
