2-step for stock ignition systems

I am interested, but will wait until neutral party track results come in.

Will the price change if one does not pre-order? Is this a discounted rate? I have pre-ordered items in the past to get them 6 months after they were supposed to come out.

If the price is cheaper then maybe I will roll the dice. Otherwise, probably not. Or, if there will be availability issues then maybe I will pre-order. Can you clarify this Bob?

The preorders are so that guys can 'get in line' to make sure they get one from the first batch.

Production takes about 4 weeks so if you do not get one from the first batch you will likley be looking at late April or May. You are not out any money as we do not charge your credit card until the day we actually ship you your unit. Up to you. I am pretty sure the first batch will sell out before we can ship them. I set up a 2 step support forum today on Full Throttle Speed Tech Support - Powered by vBulletin HERE

As soon as the owners manual is done we will post it in the 2 Step forum on full throttle tech for download.

We do not have one. Right now the focus is on units, It will be a little before the units ship. Sorry but Bob is working as fast as he can

Yeah understood Mike, thanks. Just thinking that the installation questions also affects the buying decision. I mean, I'll still get one but am already thinking ahead to how and where it will install on the car. As I'm sure many others are too. Maybe just a description here of the plan for how it will interface and install would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Elementry questions, but i have to ask.

Is this 2 step system hard on the motor?

It has been said that the problem, previous to this system, with a stock coil pack/module is that it would be hard on the bearings. I just want to be perfectly clear on the fact of possible motor "harm".

Im not trying to be negative, just clear on the product and "potention" damage incurred when using it.

Well, you do get torque pulsing and such when you skip cylinders. This is true of any 2-step system. With the turbo car, trying to build boost, we are way below the torque levels that you run when blasting down the track.

when the cylinders do fire, the mixture is correct and the timing is correct. So there is no danger of detonation or other unhappiness. This is not necessarily the case with other kinds of 2-steps. (not talking about MSD stuff on regular engines)

The only potential for damage I can think of is if excessive retard is used and you stay on the 2-step too long. The loud bangs that you hear on some of the videos of Supras and such are from the fuel+air exploding in the exhaust manifold and turbine housing. That can be hard on turbine wheels. (or so I've heard)

Perhaps Pattrick can comment.

False knock IMO. Wheel spin could have caused that. I have been in a car with this system. No KR recorded and he(TurboBuRick) showed me patrial cut, and full cut....Several times too:biggrin:

I don't get any on my car. Perhaps there is something rattling.
