Well, i thought this day would never happen, today it finally did. They almost got it / them...

Walked around the corner of my enclosed trailer and noticed the handle of the rear door was unlatch. I keep it backed up so the door will not open and the car wont come out.

Got closer to it and noticed the pad locks were gone, i immediately knew what had happened. They used bolt cutters to get the masterlocks off.

Time to face the facts and open the trailer, what do i see.... car cover half pulled off the car and the KEYS sitting on the decklid:eek:

At least the car was still here, i figured, what ever is wrong with it, i will just get it done.

Notice the drivers side door is half open, open it up, collar guard is laying on the floor, glove box open, papers on the floor. NO DAMAGE. They found the hidden keys and must have noticed it wouldnt come out of the trailer. Plus its setup so nothing works on the car in the current spot.

3 scratches on the roof, 1/4 panel and 1/4 glass area. Wow that was close.....

So i walk 10 feet over to 2 pickups parked next to my trailers, one has the rear glass knocked out..

I think to myself, why would they try and break into this truck.... open the door and the column is ripped to pieces and they couldnt get it to start, looked at the second truck and noticed the same thing, column is in pieces and there are a few Milwaukee's best tall boys thrown in the cab:confused:
1 was frozen and blew up all over the interior.

Called the police and they checked it all out, apparently these guys stole a truck about 1/2 a block away.....

At this point the light bulb comes on and i walk to the front of the trailer, they had busted the hitch locks on both of my trailers and were stealing the damn trucks to get my trailers and possibly more
This is in a fenced in, gated, locked and secure area.. I dont want to say where they are, but its not a storage area.

Can you say lucky????

I cannot believe they did not come back and steal the car, now i say that and it will probably happen again.

You dont realize how vulnerable your stuff is when someone wants it real bad.

I can live with the scratches, thank god the car is still here and not being parted out right now.

Wow , glad you didn't loose anything much.I remember one time going to Speedway gas for some race fuel in Tinleypark you have to prepay went in of course had to wait in line some came back out and there was a car pulled right up to my car . I figure a few more minuts in there and it would have been gone !Do you think this happened during the day or night?

Buy the round locks that they can't use bolt cutters on. I have seen young kids climb 10 foot fences with 4 feet of barb wire like it was nothing. Did they cut the fence to get in ?

I am thinking night time, last night or the night before.

Very lucky they didnt come back with the stolen truck!

Damn Bryan, that was friggin close.

Its time to find secure storage, how about the Kaufmann storage mines? At least for the winter?

Might be named something else by now?

Glad they didnt get the whole damn package, I knew you shoulda had beers last night. Then you would of had to pee at 3 Am and could have met them with Mr 9 MM:wink:

Yes, they cut thru 2 sets of fences to get inside, then cut to get their ways out.
Judging from the footprints 3 guys.

Man, that sucks Bryan. Good thing they didn't get farther than they did. Can't have anything nice anymore without some punks thinking they can help themselves to it. We had a generator stolen awhile ago, but other than that, we have been lucky. Helps to have neighbors always coming and going, and we kinda watch out for each others stuff.
Sounds like they knew what they were looking for. Someone shady you might have shown stuff to?
I had to call the cops here when a couple unmarked flatbeds ended up around my place in the middle of the night. Little did they know I was getting ready to work an early shift. Happened twice. Called the cops the second time around, and never saw them again. Don't know who they were or what they were after, but I've had my firepower a lot more ready since then.

Yeah, not here at the house... Thats what sucks is the area is secure and the police are up and down the road to check on it every hour or so..

Dude, it would have been open trailer, enclosed trailer and 2 bricks  oh and 2 trucks! They would have met mr shotgun blast!

Now im all worried again.... foooook

It really doesnt suck, its nice to know i still have this stuff after all what could have happened. Im calling ADT for the new house, i havent moved in yet to the new house.

I THINK it was random theft, because of other people in the area and talking with the police about what had been going on in the area.

There is actually a security guy/ guys / barney fife that patrol the area. Today he was driving by and i was waving and hootin and hollerin at the guy, he never looked over at us, and drove right by the 4 foot gaping hole in the fence TWICE. Idiot

BW :)

damn, thats scary

Another reason to go with GPS tracking, if my car is moving I want to know about it

Yes that is a great idea, i read up on it here on the board and would love to have it. Maybe this is a wakeup call to get serious about security.

That would have been 20K down the tubes! car + trailer

Maybe i will get a heater and a cot and wait for them.

Dang BW ...... that was too close for comfort. Do whatever it takes to keep 'em from getting your rides..... Glad to hear nothing too major.....

I am glad you got lucky bud, believe me, it could have much worse, I'll be working on my theft recovery Buick for the rest of the year atleast!:eek::eek:

Prints and DNA?

Hey Brian :) Yes, too close! It easily could have been bad, real bad. You going to BG? :)

BW

That would be my plan at this point. I had a new position I took last year right before BG.... so I chose to not go....... not planning on any new positions this year.... I hope.... so I might be able to sneak away for a few days......
