TTA vs Pontiac GTO 05

Hi!

I met a guy on the net and we decided to check our cars out and take a race on the highway.

I really like the GTO 6.0, very nice sound and a goodlooking car Well we drived to the highway, and nailed it around 60-120 mph. Both times he jumped on it a little earlier than me so he got 1-2 cars from the beginning. That distance was even tru the race, maybe he pulled some on me but I didnt come closer anyway. It is faster than I supposed it to be, the only thing he had done with it was kn filter and aftermarket exhaust. I am driving on 18-20 psi, dont know really since my gauge is a mess. The car is also a bit fat I think, must decide if I shall invest in a wideband! With a better tune I will pull him but I didnt tell him any excuses. We decided to go to a 1/8 race in our city in june, lets see who get the best time then Is the GTO faster from a roll than from a standing start compared to a TTA/GN ?

Thats excatly what we will do the 10 july I think I think I will be the fastest then, but I am only allowed to have ordinary street tires

Your combo in your sig should give you about a 12.00 1/4 @ 110 mph or so...
You must be on some $****ty tires and spinning bad. You got the GTO from a dig anyway, even on crap rubber.

Yep, plus get a pair of MT's. I learned... Can you leave the hole at WOT? You are wasting your money and time without having traction.

Well I raced the GTO on the highway, 60-120 mph, so not from a dig. I have MT slicks in the garage to use on races (but we are not allowed to use MT slicks with soft walls at the local race in Gothenburg), cause we race it on public roads, but its legal.

My BLM is at 118 right now (vaccum leak?), and the o2:s is mostly 830 but are down to 790 also sometimes... I belive the tune is fat, but cant know without WB. The car has been standing still for the 4 last years cause I had not had time with it, also was the fuel pump bad. Getting some knock sometimes but its alot of false knock, I notice that I have it when the car is changing gear, and on wheel spin, therefore I dont dare to put higher boost on it.
GTO is a cool car anyway, love that V8

Hey Swede2.
I just got back from a trip that included a couple days in Stockholm. Lot's of nice classic American Muscle cars roaming the streets at mid summer there.

I also went to Estonia and visited Tallinn and Parnu. I noticed a few roaming the streets in Tallinn and saw a nice late 60's Stingray Vette on the highway between Tallinn and Parnu.

Personally I think the GTO is a plain azz ugly looken car. There is just nothing special about it other then a decent motor. Reminds me of an older looking Chevy Cavalier...

I dont know if he has the Buick anymore. Oh talking about american cars in Sweden... Here is the lowest milage TTA in Sweden for sale... It has 4400-4500 miles on the odometer.

Hi Mike. 118 is on idle. Actually I filled it with around 60/40 E85 last fuel stop. The knock retard is almost gone now, the o2:s on WOT went down to under 800, so I had to give it 10 % more WOT fuel (cant tune more with the chip) and now its rather good o2 on 760-790. But its lean on idle I guess... I have to have a WB!

Take full advantage of that ta49, turn the boost TO AT LEAST 24PSI.

Your going to kill that goat if you leave at 1psi of boost.

Get good at launching that car, i was doing really good on radial tires and hooking floored on the streets racing z06 vettes.

Try and get the boost up, and maybe add some timing if its fat.
Dont bother tuning it for 20psi, turn it up and then lean it out a tad.
