Florida Gators- National Champions!

I had a hard time rooting for the Gators - especially since they rolled my Tide to get to this game - but I had to pull for the SEC team. Tebow is the man! And +1 on that Heisman curse!

I was luck enough to get to watch the game in 3D at a local movie theater - F*cking Awesome picture. Unfortunately, that Gator defense was too much for my alma matter.

IMO - The two goal line stands were the defining moment for Florida. Congratulations!

LSU is my team and I am a Gator Hater, but I am glad a team from the SEC won again. 3 in a row and going for #4 next year. I hope it's SEC vs Pac 10. Gators suck but the SEC rules.

Congrats anyway

Another SEC fan here..........another SEC National Title Banner, that's a good thing........but now football is over with and it's time for conference play in college hoops !........GO BIG BLUE ! , GO BIG BLUE !, now repeat after me, GO BIG BLUE !

Congrats Gator Fans! Way to represent the SEC!!

Wonder if Tebow is still the fourth ranked in the Big 12? ;)

It's about time the SEC got it's recognition. It is the best conference in the country hands down. No offense to you PAC 10, Big 10/12, or other conference guys, but your best teams would have trouble keeping winning SEC records!!

Most bowl appearances - Alabama Crimson Tide.

Look out next year - Saban was at least 2 years ahead of "schedule" this year. I thing they did hold on the the target - 'er I mean "#1" longer than anyone else during the regular season. That was kind of like that Heisman jinx this year!

Bottom line - the SEC is THE toughest conference - PERIOD! Even though I'm normally a Gator hater as well, I am proud for the SEC takin 'em to the woodshed!

Thanks Chris!! My son is a bigger Gator fan than I am. His room is painted blue & orange and he has Gator sheets and blankets on his bed :) We fly two college flags in front of our house, the Gators and the Spartans (it's the Yankee in me). Needless to say, the Gators flag was above the Spartan flag during football season. During basketball season things will probably be reversed.

Congratulations Gators. Fine job representing the SEC. Next year it will be ON.

1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997 National Champs! GO BIG RED!

With all due respect to the Cornhusker's past accomplishments, if they were in the SEC they would have had alot more trouble getting to those championships.

It's what makes the SEC the most dominate force college football has ever seen. Competition week in and week out is staggering. Take a look at Florida's schedule this year, they had to go through some extremely difficult teams to get there. There is not another conference who offers the challenges the SEC does every week.

BTW there was not a team in the nation who wanted to play LSU in a bowl game this year. They were out for revenge, right Wendy?

the 95-97 team is one of the best in History, we beat Florida 62-24 for the title Jan 2 1996.

Another Google

The Cornhuskers are currently in their 117th season and hold an all-time record of 808–334–40. Nebraska is one of only 7 football programs in NCAA Division I-A history to win 800 games. The Cornhuskers are the winningest college football program of the last 50 years, both by winning percentage and number of wins.

The Cornhuskers' three national championships in Division I collegiate football over the past 25 years are the second most of any university. They have five all time.

In 97 We beat Peyton Manning and Tenn. 42-17 for a National Championship.........

and beat Miami 24-17 in 1995 for another National Championship...

Oh well enough Rambling,,, I guess we all like OUR teams:biggrin:

and we hired OUR coach back from LSU---- BO PELINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You won the championships by beating one team. It's a fact if you had to play an SEC schedule those years you wouldn't even have been in the Championship Game.

Nebraska is a great team with Great Tradition! I just don't believe them or any of the other so called top five could handle being in the SEC week in and week out. It is the toughest conference in the Nation to play in!

More from the National Champion GATORS!!

Well you know what they say about arguing on the internet, I am glad you have an opinion and I have mine. Just like you have yours.

All I know is when it mattered we handed FLORIDA there ASS!

Enjoy.

BTW we are pretty dang close in head to head meeting's.

The SEC leads the Big 12 in all-time head-to-head match-ups with a 20-17-0 (.541) record.

Over the past 10 years ('98-'07) the SEC holds a 18-16-0 (.529) advantage.

Against the Big 12's predecessor (the Big Eight) the SEC had a 43-43-6 (.500) record.

Over the last 12 years half of the National Champions (6) have come from the SEC. That shows the caliber of teams the conference produces year in and out. In 2004 Auburn went 13-0 winning the SEC and was denied the chance to play for the National Championship. That still burns my a$$.

Well we finally found a quarterback to replace Ryan Perriloux (the biggest waste of talent since Cecil Collins). Thats all we were missing all season. You can't go three and out or give up pick 6s to teams that have high powered offenses like we did. Les put in the true freshman QB (Jordan Jefferson) with a tremendous skill set and magically LSU looked like a POWERHOUSE again. Lots of fans have called for Les' head for not putting Jefferson in before the National title was out of sight but fans don't understand that a kid right out of highschool isn't ready to just be thrown into the Pros at QB....and make no mistake about it SEC football is just like the pros.

Another staggering blow to LSU was the loss of defensive coordinator Bo Pelini although I do not think that he would have made the difference for us this year as there is nothing a defensive coach can do to stop the offense from throwing pick 6s. I wish the Nebraska fans and coach Bo all the best in the years to come. Nebraska has a fine football tradition and its good to see that they are trying to get back to the form they are known for. I love competitive college football.

AGREED NW:biggrin: We are all just passionate college football fans..... I like "most" any college football game and do not really despise any program other than K-State:mad:
