Rarest TR Option??!!

Ok, my 87 Turbo T has the manual outside chrome mirrors (RPO code DR3). I was told by Kirban himself that only a handful of turbo regals had this option. By the way, I have the wo2 blackout package, which makes this chrome mirror option so weird  Could this possibly be the rarest option for the tr??

your not the only 1

i also have an 87 turbo t with the chrome manual mirrors. I also have a column shift with bench seat and no power windows, my car was original black with the chrome trim, Nice to know there's another out there similar to mine.

Ok, so I wonder if anyone has the wo2 blackout package with the chrome mirrors? Wow, these T's really can have any option and in any combination....

Heavy padded landau top treatment with T-Top application on an '87 is said to be extremely rare. In Kirban's book, he mentioned he'd only seen one which was a white exterior/ top car. I can say there are at least two as my car has this. Those chrome mirrors are rare too!

On a little different note I had a 86 GN a few years back that was completely loaded and had one option that I think is pretty rare--engine block heater. The cord was coiled up near the battery and was made to plug into a 110v socket to preheat the engine.

Hers mine W02 package with roll up windows an column shift.. I have had people tell me there is no way this was a option... Well looks like they were wrong  ..

Nice car.

WO2 would be an option on a Regal, the turbo package too, however no power windows and a standard column shift would be standard equipment or lack of an option.

No reason to mix options with standard equipment.

The standard mirrors were chrome manual as well on a Regal from the sales literature, therefore it wasn't really an option either. ;)

The reason they aren't seen much, is more GN's, WE4's, Limiteds etc., were made than standard Regals with turbos. And many base Regals had the body colored mirrors with at least the drivers side adjustable one option level, with the passenger side adjustable another option.

Just my .02.

Rare options to me would be the padded vinyl roof treatments, cornering lamps, body side stripes, white lettered tires, carpet savers with the inserts, and twilight sentinel.

Probably others as well like the block heater and California emissions equipment.

My base '87 Regal with Turbo and chrome package has all that you described in your first sentence salvage with exception to twilight sentinel. Not a limited but almost identical to one from the exterior view.

Astroroof has to be a farely rare option.

I've never actually seen one other than mine. Of course, I don't see many Regals period living in Southern Oregon. Most people drive trucks and SUV's around here.

Hey SalvageV6, sound like you're describing my car lol
My Limited has the landau top & astro roof as well as the cornering lights, opera lights, body stripe, twilight sentinel, white lettered tires & carpet savers. It also has the bench seat with column shift, chrome trim & the door courtesy lights.

Compared to the tons of GN's and then the blacked out WE4's with their specific trim additions, the limited production Regals and Limited Regal options would be more rare since they didn't make as many cars that could pick from those options.

And once you blacked out with the WO2 package any of those cars the choices were more limited I believe such as no cornering lamps.

Leather seating would have to be rare as well.

would think roll up windows would be a rare option too along with manual door locks and manual seats and non intermitten wipers. oh maybe non cruise contol too.

I have a 1986 Wh-1 1 of 463 which is the rarest turbo regal next to the 1982 Grand National. Also my car is an astroroof.

My T-type has manual windows/locks/seats, the lightweight model also known as the elcheapo edition

I agree as the chrome manuals were the standard Regal mirrors than that should not be called an option as such. And when the W02 was ordered on the W05 Limited than the Limited was more or less an interior option as you could not order any of the exterior Limited options like vinly roof, opera and cornering lamps along with the lower wide body moldings.

In my vast collection of SPID labels the very rarest of options has to be the A02 tinted windshield. Most if not all Regals have the A01 Tinted glass option which is for all of the glass on the car. The A02 was just the windshield. I have a label from one car. It is a 87 GN of all things. If I had to guess I would say the padded vinyl roof, not the standard vinyl roof is one of the rarest.

I test drove an 86 Regal Turbo limited WH1 with leather interior and column shift.
Real nice car, was in central Jersey back in 1991-92, I couldnt get a used car loan because back then a 5 yrs or more car was "too old"
I wonder if that car is still alive?
