My new 17x11s

GREAT look! This just sold me on notching my frame. I guess now is the time since the frame is off and getting acid dipped as we speak... Good thing I made up my mine before sending it off for powdercoating...

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I drove it around 120 miles this weekend and actually got a couple compliments on the wide rears. I do regret the 315 nittos 555rs though. They aren't wide enough and they don't hook a lot better than a street tire would. My next tires will be a true 315 street tire or possible a MT drag radial

BTW Thanks again to Disco Stu, his notch work was great and I am very happy with it. John, ya ought to drive it now after the alignment and wider meats in the rear. It feels really nice

Looks good!! What are your ground to fender lip measurements front and rear measuring though the center of the wheel?

I just got done lowering the rear of mine with a set of Hotchkis springs and now it sits perfect!

Yours is nice and low too, Love the stance..

Scot W.

Thanks Scot, my measurements are 23 7/8" on the front and 25 7/8" in the rear.

Do it, i have no regrets at all.

I wish there was someone up here in WI who has done a notch before. It might be a little trickier since the frame is bare and not connected to anything.

My bare frame is going in for a notch job this weekend, I'll let you know how it turns out. Your not that far away!

real nice stands.
do those center caps have the power 6 logo? r they snapp ons?

Sorry I missed this yesterday, yes they do. They are the stock torque thrust caps with a sticker from Mark at buickgn.com. I've had them for years and they have never budged.

Nah, you might wait until you get the rear suspension back together. That way you can check the fitment of the wheels/tires. Other than that everything else might be a little easier. Esp the rear brace.

Do it! Meat makes everything look goooooood.

Where does one go in the midwest for an acid dip anyway?

Car looks great JD, nice job. Sorry I missed you guys at the show this past weekend, would liked to have seen the car.

There is a place in Franklin, WI called Restoration Specialists. They do great work, but since they're the only ones I know of around, they're always super busy. Quoted me 3 weeks to do my frame and rear end housing. Cost is roughly $500 for both. Pricey, but this is the only way I know of to completely clean this stuff inside and out.

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind, although I'd also have to factor in shipping too. Is that just for the dip, or did that include the powder coat?

That's just the dip. I was quoted ~$500 to have the frame powder coated at another local place. The frame will be heading there as soon as the frame notch is complete at the fabricator.

Hey JD did you do the notch or was it a local shop?

I've been wanting to get mine done... Im aching to get that pro-touring look and ride, but Im not shelling out the cash for new rims and tires if I cant get that fat look.

If you dont mind me asking, how much did the notch run you?

Got a new CK stage one trans and a 10in 2800 lock up going in the car next week.
