    Boost vs. back pressure

I don't have any backpressure data but a experence I can share. When I got my GN it had the stock turbo that was in bad shape, and a crappy cat back exhaust that was rusted out.I put a combo of mods. (TA-49,bluetops,etc. with a 3"DP,3"highflowcat.,& Hooker Catback exhaust). I got everything...

    Stock Turbo Rebuild

Poston's turbos are from Limit(John Craig) at least they were a couple of years ago & I'll bet they still are. I confirmed this with John himself, it's a good idea to get your facts straight before you bash a good vendor!

So, Who DID Actually Pick Up WIth a GTQ?

Why do people who have thier mind made up about something ask other peoples opinions & then ignore the facts. The cars set-up to take atvantage of this turbo have the proof that it's the ticket, & they are not trying to hype it to people with slower cars just to sell it to people that don't need...

    dyno tuning

I'd suggest some basic tuning at the track, if you can get in a few runs in try to get the O2's down to 760-780 by either taking out some fuel or increasing boost. Take it up to 17 psi or take out 2% WOT fuel & see how your mph responds, make a note of temp./humidity on the runs for reference...

    Nitromethane? anyone do it yet?

I'm puzzled by the T-92 in you'r sig., what does that stand for? I'm no expert on fuels but from what I know Nitro is a very volitile fuel best suited for all out runs by motors set to pump huge volumes of it in the cyls. & ready to replace the motor after 1 run if needed! The hydrogen peroxide...

    Ideal temps.+more boost=11.37

Congrat's to Razor & Edd for a super product & super job of making it work where it matters(timeslips talk,BS walks)! Great stuff guys!

    Ideal temps.+more boost=11.37

I keep trying to come up with the words to tell you how impressed I am but really can't! I hope anyone with a stock car looks at what you've accomplished! GREAT JOB! I do have a question, is the alchy sys. set up "standard", do you spray alchy before the I/C or just where to run so much boost...

crazy knock +12° when boost level is above 20?

Are you still useing the Bosch O2 sensor? I tried one a few years back & was running so rich it fouled my plugs in no time! I'd suggest putting a stock O2 on, new plugs & try it again.

Finally blew it up.......question for ya....

What size injs. are you running? If I read your post right you're going from stock unported heads to ported champ. irons so you'll put more air in the cyl. at lower boost levels. It will be time to be patient & learn tuning your car "again". If you were close to max on your injs. you'll need to...

    Te60

You should be fine with the TE-60 & the rest of your combo. My setup is real close & is good for a best of 7.47, 97mph in th 1/8th. I would probly want more inj. if I ran 1/4 mi. & really was pushing it tho.

    Turbo for 455+ cubes

Lets talk Torque instead of HP, the thing that makes a Turbo Buick such a great drag race car is the great torque which is similar to what a good big block should allready have. I'm thinking if you can add even modest boost you will have to have some some serious traction issues! Not to say...

    new dyno numbers

Jeremy, I was wondering what your EGT's were on the dyno runs and what the actual A/F ratio or O2 numbers were. I see you had 11.5 set but could it have been richer than that? I've never used a eng. mgt. sys., just the factory ECM. Also what have you done bottom end wise on your motor?

    new dyno numbers

I still think the dyno results were good for a very conservitive tune! C-16 is great BUT it only gives you the potential for big power cuz it allows high timing & boost! It may have hurt a little with 23 deg./20 psi! The real proof will be at the strip ( and how hard you push the tune, how well...

    what size turbo?

My opinion, a TE-60 & the 009's are a good match plenty of fuel in 1/8 mi. runs for sure. With good tuning the stock D-5 conv. will work but it does help if it's "loosend" up a bit! I don't think there's enough gain from a stock turbo(in good cond.) to a '49/44 turbo for the money! Jus' my...

    new dyno numbers

First off, nice numbers for having to keep the boost low & (IMO) conservitive timing. When you get the fueling issues worked out sounds like a strong combo, what is this BS3? Eng. mgt. sys? Post your results after you get the fueling worked out if you would!
