For my hybrid project, I obtained the TR 200r4 trans crossmember, thinking it would be a bolt in, but it looks like it is not. Several people have done the El camino/LC2 swap. Could one of you guys steer me in the right direction? Do I drill new holes in the frame, and if so, where? Or do I cut the bracket off the crossmember and weld it to the Elco crossmember? What did you guys do?

what year is the elco? the cars newer than 83 should have both crossmember mounting pads for either trans that were used. i know that when you order a dual hump crossmembers (for people running straight dual) they have a crossmember mounting pad extension for people with pre 84 (minus the hurst olds) running a 200r4 trans.

so in concluision i think you need the mounting pad extension. see this G Body Crossmembers for GM cars, G Body, G Body Crossmember, G body, crossmember
