Where to find a LS Engine

I was luckey enough to find an LS3 motor for my new project. But my partners are looking for low budget LS style engines for thier projects. Does anybody know of the years and make of the cars esspecially trucks that these LS style engines can be found in. Thanks.

There are "stickys" describing the good/bad/ugly of the engine choices.
FWIW, I got my 2005 6.0/4L60E out of Craigslist..Local, so no frt. $2500.00 15,000 mi.
The REALLY low buck engines appear to be the 5.3's. I've seen many sell for $500.
Best to stick w/ 2001 and later.

LKQ parts is a junk yard that are all over the country and have a ton of
different ls engine from a camaro ls1 to a g-van 6.0 lq4 or lq9 just have to call
and ask -- the on the internet ---hope this helps

supply and demand dictates the price on these 5.3 they are very cheap we get around 4-600 for a decent mile engine 60-80k and 200-300 for high mile engines 100k and up. This is on the silverado, sierra, tahoe, yukon and suburban engines.
