My 87 GN is long overdue for valve cover gaskets. What kind do you think is best to use, cork or rubber? Give me your opinions and maybe even some part numbers. Thanks, DON

I currently have neoprene gaskets for my valve covers after putting some lt1 springs on.

i like the cork gasket myself because sometimes the rubber gaskets sometimes bow in middle and i cant get them to stay in place while bolting them down, even if i use a little silicone to try to hold them in place, it still doesnt work.

I became an expert at both. I glue the gaskets to the v-covers with weather striping adhesive from a hardware store. It's yellow in color. It hardens a little bit but is still flexible. You could glue it to the head also but you'll have a hard time getting the coverd off plus you can remove the covers w/o ruining the gaskets several times.
