I have an '87 GN with pretty bad (subjective, I know, but maybe 6" long, 3" high) typical front-bottom-edge door rust on both doors. The paint's bubbled up down there, so I'm sure the skin is gone and there's a good chance that the metal that it welds to on the bottom is pretty chewed up.
So, do we grind it and fill it, cut off the bottom of the door and weld in a replacement piece, or just replace the doors with rust-frees? Does anyone have a good supplier for parts or a good suggestion? I'm going to have the whole car repainted this year, and all of the little body dings and rust spots fixed, and I want the doors to be right.
Any ideas about what it's going to cost me to make the metal right?
thanks,
Jason McCartney
