short shifting

I have what I believe to be a bad tcc solenoid. Clutch locking when it's not supposed to, tries to pull through stop signs all the classic symtoms ect..
If I change the tcc will it affect any other shift points? My car wants to short shift between 2nd and 3rd and 3rd and 4th. I'm figuring the tcc will fix the lock-up problem but what about the short shifting? I'm talking about wide open throttle.
