(Problee dumb) Transmission question(s)

I put a new Cold Case radiator in my 86 T-Type, and the engine starts fine, but when I put the tranny in drive it stalls. Is it possible I have the tranny cooler lines going into the radiator reversed? Does it even matter which one is top or bottom?

I have had this car for over six years, so I should already know this: where do I add transmission fluid to the stock trannny? I know where the dipstick is. Automatics have always been an intimidating mystery to me.

Also, I realize that there are different ATF formulas. I got a bottle of Carquest "Multi-Vehicle ATF" at Advance. Meets Dexron-III requirements. Sound okay.

I know there is a search feature here, but I am swamped at home and work right now and time is short. So thanks for any help.

Unplug the electrical connector on the left side of the transmission and see if it dies in gear afterward. You pour trans fluid down the dipstick tube. Dexron 3 is fine.
