it could. Some decks have diff sensitivites and pick up weaker stations better. Pioneer seems to have a good tuner set-up. I can pick up Houston based stations here in College Stations (120 driving miles, not sure of "birds-eye" distance)
One plus is, that if you are near a large city but a ways out and all the signals are weak then the new satallite radio might be a good option for you. Pioneer sells decks preped to run with the XM radio (I think some of Eclipses top models do also, but not sure).
