Internet connection tester??

Where can I go to test my connection speed? We've had a scratchy line since some storms the other day, which hasn't been fixed yet. Just got back on DSL (insert sigh of relief) but I don't think it's going at 100%. I'd like to see what speed I'm at now.

Mark: what do you run on the Bellsouth setup?

www.dslreports.com

Bill, it depends but I regularly get 150 kb/s downloads thru a decent pipe. I need to run a speed test myself, and probably tweak a little bit. I havent really aproached a 200 kb/s yet as I easily could on cable. It seems to be doing better lately though, I know you are happy to be back on broadband!

My results:

2003-03-13 19:48:07 EST: 1224 / 217
Your download speed : 1224000 bps, or 1224 kbps.
A 149.4 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 217391 bps, or 217 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Fast Is Never "Fast-Enough"

I do remember "dial-up" being considered relatively fast with a reliable & (true speed) 32K connection.

Wow, it'd be impossible to go back now!

The sites put me at 130 megabits/sec download
218 k upload

How's that compare? Maybe it'll speed up when the line gets cleaned up.

Thats pretty close to what I'm getting. There are some things that can be "tweaked" if you look at the other tools. I havent even taken the time myself yet. You can probably get it up a little more, havent seen it go over 200 k's a sec in Rankin. Still pretty good though for around here.
