Dusty, I'm looking for a converter for my 78 malibu drag racer...I'm currently footbraking the car at 2500 rpm's, and the converter is flashing up to 4xxx. I'm going to go with a transbrake w/2 step. Vehicle weight is 3024#, and I weigh 225#. 1-2, 2-3 shift 6500 rpm's. Track is 1410' altitude. Currently footbraking with a GM40 4000 stall 10" converter. I will be running super-pro..

Here's a video. I'm coming out on the hole soft on that launch.

Let me know how to get ahold of you so I can figure out how to purchase a converter. Also looking for a recommendation on what converter/rpm. Thanks.

Sent you a pm so you can call me tomorrow.

There's several options for this combo. We can discuss tomorrow.

Ok....Iceman core support and trans xmember are being delivered today. Will lose about 50# off those two pieces alone.

I'm also going to install a transbrake. Got a PTC 8" 4800-5200 converter on the way. Thanks, Dusty! Gunna start launching the car off the button. The current converter is an off the shelf Hughes GM40, 4000 stall. Worked great for footbraking it.

Hoping to see a 10.4x this year.
