    Hood Lock Stuck

Being a GN owner since 87, I am well aware of that weak spot, which is why I went for a gentle "push" rather then a "hit". But you are quite right about the "tip" of the hood denting quite easiliy.

are these OEM front bumper fillers?

I have an NOS set and it looks the same as yours except that your metal and even the gray plastic looks why "too new". That does not mean its not OEM. But if it is OEM it must be very "flexible and pliable" if its "rigid and "stiff", its a repo. All the bolt patterns look the same as my set...

    clone ?

Let's remember that when GM decided to extend production of the GN through Dec 1987 the "Grand National" became a seperate "Model" because during this time ONLY Grand Nationals were being built. The window stickers on these cars , and most likely the Title reads "Grand National". The earlier...

    Hood Lock Stuck

Bow to the MASTERS. Pressed the hood down right at the tip and BINGO it popped open. I think the "Fonz Push" is the right method. THANKS to all who responded.

    Hood Lock Stuck

Sounds like a real pain! Will how to remove the grill be obvious as I start poking around? Guess I dreaming for an easier way.

    Hood Lock Stuck

My mistake, should have said "did not pop the HOOD". Unfortunately, there is no buttom in the glove box to release the hood.

    GNX Book on Ebay

I have a new one in my collection of GN related "stuff". It may be rare but not limited to 527 because I manage to get one without buying a GNX. And the "book" is not numbered.

    Hood Lock Stuck

I was all set to tuck the car away for the winter including hooking up the battery tender. When I pulled the hood release, it did not pop the trunk. Either the end that pulls the "hook" broke or disconnected and my hood is now shut with the battery slowly draining. So what's the easiest way...

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

Been running on that KB chip for 20 years with no issues but not opposed to making a change. After all it is 2008 ! It owes me nothing but is the TurboTweak street chip you guys are recommending good for a bone stocker?

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

It's an old Kenne Bell chip I bought about 20 years ago when these cars were new. What do you recommend for 93 octane and a stock motor? I'm overdue for an upgrade.

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

I guess you"re telling me that after 21 years, I have to do more than change the oil and wash it :( :) . I'll start with buying the scan master. Can you recommend a source for a new IAC and TPS? Thanks

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

Trans is fine. Motor just kinda "dies" so I'm going with replacing the IAC. Can someone recommend a vendor for the IAC? May pick up the scan tool also since my old new car is finally acting up. Thanks again.

Don't own a scan tool. But with two votes for the IAC motor sound like good advice. Do I hear a third? Thanks to everyone who replied so far.

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

Now that you mention it, yes. I'd just get spooked if the dash lit up because of a stalled motor at highway speeds. I had to shut my GS down a while back and the steering wheel locked. I just rather that not happen. Thanks

Fuel filter was replaced about 1000 miles back. Fuel pump is original. Even my brakes are original.

    2007 Dodge Charger Srt-8,black,19900 Miles,florida,

That's a great price for a great ride. Someone is going to get a great deal for an awesome daily driver. I paid $500 over the sticker for mine back in 06. That's over $44K :( . It was a case of history repeating itself, as I also paid $500 over sticker for my 87 GN back in July 1986...

    Nothing Lasts Forever!

But its only original once. I am the original owner of a 87 GN with just over 24K miles on the clock. The car is 99.9 bone stock and aside from the Mass Air Sensor (changed 15 years ago), battary , alternator, plug wires, plugs and air filter, NOTHING UNDER THE HOOD has ever been changed...

    Anyone replace their T-top weatherstrip?

Rather then start a new one, I'll unearth this old one. I am replacing my T-Top weatherstripping with GM original. Did anyone find it necessary to use a non-hardening putty like black substance when replacing your weather stripping? My originals seemed to include this goo at some of the...
