The story I heard was that Harry left PTE out of frustration due to stagnant wheel tech that they were using until inventory was exhausted. HPT uses the wheels that he’d designed that would otherwise have been available years from now.

My car has gone 9.4x with a 1.34 60’ with a 6466. Race weight is 3750. But nobody knows my car or any of my buddy’s cars that have all done similar feats. I’ll say it again…a lot of us have been on this site for a long time. Longer than you. 🙄

I get it. I wondered myself if it wasn’t just my skewed perception but others have said the same. The exhaust housing in these HPT turbos is pretty slick and surely contributes to the greater spool speed. I’m also a long rod 249” stroker.

Yes it will hit. I’ve got a turbosmart hypergate lite and it’s about 1/4” away from the intercooler even with the intercooler shimmed forward by about 1/2”. The shroud is now within 1/4” of the radiator fans.

My HPT 6466 spools quicker than the e cover 6262 it replaced

Do you have any close up pics of the gauges? How many miles on the odo?

I have no front bar. I’m down to about 1/2” clearance to the fans also. It’s tight to say the least.

I had to use the smaller Turbosmart gate and then shim the precision SLIC intercooler forward quite a bit to make enough room.

Ditto….it’s a seriously nice piece. Though it’s not 1/4” plate. Closer to 1/8”.

I believe I’ve got one. Lemme check this evening.
