I know the procedure for setting the cable, I have an aftermarket cable and so far as I know it doesn't 'ratchet', so I set it before putting the pan on the transmission. I'm running a Holley carb and have both of the required brackets.

Shortening or lengthening? Right now I shift to 2nd at 20-25, 3rd at about 45, then overdrive at 60ish. If I tightened it up any more (2-4 clicks) I start getting a flare between 2nd and 3rd. And my shift points get higher, say 30 for 1-2 and 50 for 2-3 and like 70-ish for overdrive.

Installed a CKPerformance extreme duty pressure regulation system today. .555 boost valve, .300 reverse boost valve, high pressure regulator spring and PR valve. I have much better readings now. Let me know if this looks better to you guys. Thanks for the help.

As far as quick shifting, I was pretty easy on it, but 1/2 was about 15mph, and I think the 2/3 was about 30. I was honestly paying more attention to the feel of the shifts than at what speed they happened. Definitely didn't feel like they took place real early or like they were stacked.
