    FAST B2B Question

Does anyone know how FAST groups the injector outputs for firing in B2B units? (ie, do they fire INJ ABCD and then INJ EFGH???). I'm using an EDIS/FAST unit on a Ford 4.6L V8. Thanks! Justin

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

One more observation guys... My brother is setting up a FAST car with 150lb injectors, he noticed that in order to get the VE numbers to be reasonable, the injector offset needed to be changed (in his case, 2ms)... anybody think that I may need to change the injector offset in my case? I'm using...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Okay guys, Using all of your input, I've tried the following few things this weekend: 1) Fixed problems with my fuel pressure...now stable! (Haven't checked under boost yet, but works well in vaccuum) 2) Bypassed my MSD DIS-4. It decided to crap out while I was testing...classic...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Thanks John, good to know that my sensor is at least compatible. Just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't been able to get to the car yet (single dad + no babysitter = busy me!). But hope to this weekend. I'll definitely post results once I have things figured out! Again, thanks to...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Shane, Thanks for your reply... you and chuck must be long lost twins or something, he sent me an email with almost the exact same list of things! LOL! Anyway, First, I probably should have clarified, this is not a Wide Band option FAST, I'm using a DIY wb to monitor AFR, so...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Ahhh...I see... Okay, I'll try the "noise threshold" thing tonight and let you know how it goes! Justin

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Craig, I'll definitely give that a shot... don't know if it's helpfull or not, but I have noticed that the MAP enrichment seems to not be doing anything at all with my current setup, if I take off from a stop (big change in map), I never see the map enrichment value on the dashboard read...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Chuck, Definitely a good guess... FAST is reporting the battery voltage to be around 13.6-13.7 at idle, it's a new battery and I'm running a 130amp alternator. The fan pulls some pretty massive current when it first starts, the car is okay after the fan has started, it's just that...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Uh oh...now you guys have me worried! :) Here's a link to my .GCT for anyone interested in checking it out... I'd definitely appreciate any feedback. http://users.adelphia.net/~justinluton/images/3bar.gct Chuck, to answer your questions: Injectors are 65lb holley, low imp. Base fuel...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Shane, I agree that they seemed high when I first set them, I end up with about a 2.0ms pulse according to the dashboard. The car idles at about 11.5:1 with those numbers, and if I try to go much lower, the idle is pretty erratic. I'm wondering if there's something else that's really...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Okay guys, here's the screen dump of my maps, as you can see, I've tried to map the fuel table into the new 3 bar map... Whaddya think? 2bar 3bar Justin

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

Chuck, Are you saying that the VE numbers change based on the type of map sensor that is used? I was assuming that a ve of xx at a map value of yy would always be xx, regardless of the map sensor being used... ie, at a map of 50kpa, my VE was 80, it should still be 80 @ 50kpa, right...

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

heh... Good point Chuck, I probably should have mentioned that! But yes, I did change the software to a 3 bar map. Justin

Fast & GM 3 Bar MAP sensor

I'm wondering if anyone out there has used a GM 3 bar map sensor with a FAST system. I recently switched from my 2 bar sensor that came with my FAST to a 3 bar sensor purchased from GM. It's the one that was used on the Turbo TA's, GM Part number 12223861 (old part number 16040749). The...

misfire with fast system & msd dis

Craig, Thanks for the reply... that's what I was thinking... I guess I was just wondering if the EDIS-8 was isolating me from that problem, since the FAST is no longer directly controlling the ignition box (and only controls the EDIS) Justin

misfire with fast system & msd dis

Craig, Any chance this could cause problems in my case? I'm having a problem where my setup won't pull beyond about 6300RPM, it kind of feels like the ignition is breaking up. I've tried fattening/leaning fuel and retarding/advancing timing with no luck so far. I'm also going to try reducing...

I -think- a FAST bug may have grenaded my motor

Don't know if this is related, but I've seen some similar "oddities" in the last month. First, trying to use the "Read File" option under CCOM-WP while the engine is running causes a couple of communication errors with the laptop. It eventually worked, but I found that a couple of the tables...

    Help Troubleshooting FAST O2

Everything that I've seen about Wide Band sensors says to mount it in the downpipe, since pre-turbo exhaust temps can get VERY hot. I've got mine mounted about 12-14 inches away from the turbo in the downpipe. Jusitn

    Help Troubleshooting FAST O2

You guys *might* be seeing problems caused by the heater in the o2 sensor. While there may be nothing wrong with the actual sensor, if the exhaust gas gets too hot (beyond the point that the o2 heater is controlling the o2 temp), the o2 readings will be incorrect. The temp. of the o2 must be...
