The sound goes away in about a minute. There is no audible knock det installed as far as I know. And these are usually inside the car, not the engine bay- I hope.

Hi, I run a tt chip with #60 inj and 255 walbro with hotwire. When pushing her hard (around 15# of boost) she was knocking per my scan master. I turned up the fuel pressure to 45psi (without vacuum) and knock is gone. Does this make sense? The instructions and common wisdom is 43.5psi on fuel...

I was having problems with knock at low boost levels (3-5psi), and it would just creep up along with my boost. Scary! Turns out I had one of these chips (KB 9006U3) in the car that I thought was stock. damn KB 9006U3. They are burned for 93 octane. Anything less results in knock under boost.

I have a stock 87' GN (set at 15psi). I popped in my RJC boost controller without closing it off to minimal boost, gunned it, and saw 20psi before I realized I was about to destroy my engine when I saw 15 knock on my scan master. I almost pooped, vomited, and cried on myself at the same time...

I cleaned out the gunk from the existing plug and replaced only the hi/low relays with a cheapo generic from the auto parts and that did it. Problem gone. Scanmaster reading real numbers now.

fyi- autozone is no longer carrying them.

Thanks for the tip! I was about to lose my mind. I unplugged the center relay, like you said, and found the plug was melted- but my scanmaster works fine when it's unplugged. I'm going to replace the plug and relay box to see if the problem goes away.

I am now thinking 60# injectors might be unecessary. I can easily go 42#, tt chip, and fuel pump w hotwire. Boost guage and scanmaster. Can't wait. Spraying valhalla.
