    backfire then fast idle

Driving home last night my GN had intake backfire during a mild acceleration. When I stopped at the light the idle was 1300 rpms.Prior to this it was like 750 rpm. The car was running absolutely perfect. None of scan numbers seem out of whack except idle. Car will still backfire when building...

    Lowering Hydrocarbons

I was able to slip threw my emission test (IMO 240)this weekend w/50's and my extender chip. CO was easily passed, but the Hydrocarbons was right on the very edge of failing. My question is would lowering the fuel pressure also lower the hydrocarbon emission ? I had it at 43# (vacum off)...

    Missing Cam button?

If a hit my brakes suddenly, I am hearing a grinding sound (sort of like sticking a pencil in a fan) and my knock gauge goes full red. I have basically ruled out the Fan (disconnected) and the serpentine belt (removed for test). I did replace the timing set this spring and my thinking is that...

    Cam sensor install

Ran into a problem with the cam sensor settings after replacing the timing chain. Car won't start and its struggling to turn over, like its 15:1 compression. I believe that I screwed up when I installed the cam sensor back after oil priming. Here's my two questions : 1) With the DS valve...

    Timing Gear thickness

Need some help on this one...I replaced my stock timing gear/chain last fall with a Dynagear set. Ever since then I've been eating serpantine belts like crazy. The crank pulley is not in alignment with the waterpump pulley (sits forward). The crank will not seat fully..Has anyone seen this...

    crankshaft pully

Is there some trick to getting the crank pulley to seat properly??? I replaced my timing chain last year and been plagued with shredding serpentine belts..ever since. The belt winds up getting cut on the lip of that crank pulley. I've gone as far as using a 3 foot cast pipe on the end of the...

    Upgrading Turbo ??

I read the thread about John Craig Turbo's and it got me thinking about upgrading. My question is will moving up to that large of a turbo work with my combo ? The car is mostly street driven, but sees the track a couple of weekends a month in the summer. I'm mostly concerned with increased turbo...

    Waterpump pulley

Does someone make a spacer for Kirbans Aluminum waterpump pulley ? After destroying another belt, I discovered the pulley sits too deep and the belt rides on the lip of the crank pulley until it cuts its nearly in half. I did a search on this (found nothing), seems to me I read a thread about...

    serpantine belt

I'm having a heck of time finding a new belt..destroyed mine the other night. Jumped on the throttle while crusing at 55 and instantly blew the tires off (thanks to the new MSD 50's!!). The rpm surge threw the belt which got chewed up by one of the pulleys. I have a Dayco belt replacement but...
