    Total Frivolity

A couple of months ago I got my yz 250f out after setting for several years. The new yz250fx is a nice bike but I'm almost tempted to get a yz 125 x 2 stroke as a second bike because they seem to be more fun than the big 4 strokes

    Made a stock balancer neutral

I believe the part # is TA V2026 For the TA performance unit. It has a removable counterweight that allows it to be used in internal or external applications. The TA 2026 is for v8s so be sure that you're searching with the "V" part number for our v6

    Made a stock balancer neutral

Not sure where the pictures are I'd have to look. It can be done if you have a bunch of free time on your hands but honestly the best deal would be purchasing the unit TA sells. I just bought a ATI that's pretty nice too and it's a bit cheaper than the BHJ

    Johnson or Crower Lifters

I haven't found hydraulic rollers for a Buick v6 on Crowers site but that doesn't mean they're not available. Only familiar with the part # you listed because I'm considering them for a stage II build. I've heard a couple of reports about circlip failure in the Morels and some are noisier than...

Mike did you purchase a line kit and is there anything else that you would recommend that doesn't come with the pump assembly?

    30Lbs. vs 30Lbs. ?

Nice job explaining that without turning it into 2 pages long 😎 I almost replied earlier but couldn't figure out how to sum it up nearly as well as you did

    Stage 2 block, 197????

Mine are grooved front and rear. Front is grooved from about the 1 to 7 o'clock position facing the block. Looking at the rear cam journal from the rear it's grooved from about the 11 to 5 position

    Stage 2 block, 197????

Visually the threaded holes around the freeze plugs is the only difference I can see vs a 153. A machinist friend of mine said there's a raised cam version. I know this was discussed earlier in the thread but he said the height difference is very subtle. Good to see this stuff is still around 😎

Read if you dare… Big Boost on pump gas

If ever you do a complete teardown the main cap mating surfaces will tell you if the engine is seeing knock that's not showing up in logs. I say this because I've done it and it's easy to get lured into a false sense of confidence.

    Stage 2 block, 197????

Pretty sure this is the thread you are looking for. I actually started it trying to get an idea of how many blocks were made. Earlier in the thread I had stated that the U designation was associated with NASCAR blocks only and that isn't correct. A friend filled me in on uni-bore and I had to...

    Stage 2 block, 197????

That sounds very likely. I found the old thread you were looking for and what you're saying aligns with the timeline of production. Last blocks were produced in 99

    Stage 2 block, 197????

I believe the last run of the 153's had all 4 mains cross bolted. My guess is that your blocks are from somewhere in the middle of development. Back when we were trying to figure out if the #s were sequential or not we ask for numbers from guys who had the latest 153's and no one responded.

    Stage 2 block, 197????

Looks like you can still see parts of the 53 under the one that's cast

    Stage 2 block, 197????

It'll be interesting to see what style/size cam bearings it's set up for. What's the cylinder bore size

    Stage 2 block, 197????

That looks better. In post 6 the bores appeared to have been shifted by a significant amount. If they are truly in the stock location I haven't found anything different other than the 2 holes around the expansion plugs from my 153. Very interesting piece 😎 Looking forward to finding out more
