How does a 3255-e compare to an ta-49? As far as relibility and performance? Spool time and lag? What down pipe size is best or can an stock down pipe be used?

I was told by a GN friend of mine that rebuilding a stock turbo is not really a good idea. I just wanted to know if it is possible and how would I go about getting rebuild parts? Who offers parts?
