    Turbo 5.3 or 6.0 - ?'s

Truck manifolds and 2.5" primaries here. Those "tiny" truck manifolds have flowed enough to make over 1400whp so don't worry about it, they will be just fine. I can spool 12 psi on the brake in 1.4 secs. Check out my build thread in my Sig, might be helpful for some ideas. Good luck man, you...

    stock 5.3 swap

my build thread is in my Sig. I had $3600 in the total 6.0L Swap (88mm turbo and 60mm JGS WG included in that price). So without the Turbo, WG, or $1100 LQ4 engine ... I don't see why you can't do the total 5.3L swap for under $2k.

    question; fuel rails

All of my truck intakes 1999 - 2006 had plastic rails (none of the 25 or so engines I've had have been flex fuel models). Pretty sure they all did have pastic until 2009 when they switched to the rect port L92/L76/Ls3 style runners (those had metal rails).

    Ls Wiring Harness

We used the stock ECU/harness with HP Tuners. Dug through the harness removing all the crap I don't need to clean it up to fit the car and setup better (we remove MAF and do a SD setup, delete the secondary O2's and so on). If I remember it left me 5 or 6 wires to connect to the car, the rest...

    Rods and pistons

Rods and pistons will be a must for that power. Wiseco makes a piston for the stock bore and .020" over if my memory is correct. Other than that others have had custom pistons made (about $1000). HTH

    knock gage??

I know with HP Tuners you can output a signal to a LED light to light up is knock in present. I have a bright LED in my dash behind the unused "power injection" on right side of my dash. If it sees knock the Power Injection lights up.

    So 4.8 or 5.3...?

The aluminum blocks are safe to 1000whp, then have block distortion issues. Companies like ERL can make the aluminum blocks even stronger. Iron blocks have been proven to 1500whp without issues. Something else to look at is the cost. Aluminum is typically 3 to 4 times the cost of the iron...

Who has the fastes lsx turbo buick

here's two examples out of one 5.3 swap in an S10 Blazer. It happened on a long high gear pull, 3.08 gears, on the highway. Drove it home 30 miles. Throw 2 new/old rods in and back on the road at full boost, LOL.

Who has the fastes lsx turbo buick

true, but how long they last at this level varies from engine to engine. Some a season, some 20 passes. RPM is a big factor. The people who stay under 6000rpm tend to last longer. The LQ9 and LS3 rods will handle alittle more abuse but typically it happens in the 650 to 750whp area. Let me dig...

Anybody doing a true budget 4.8 or 5.3 Turbo G-body conversion?

that is true, moving the engine back will fix the issue. That might make getting to those upper trans bolts fun too.
