I found 2 washers in the intermediate servo piston assembly. They were on the end of the apply pin, between the inner and outer intermediate servo pistons (part #'s 19 and 21 below). From what I can see, they would cause the pin to apply the band with less piston travel. Not quite the same as...

It turned out I needed a thrust washer that was 0.160", so I added a brass washer behind one, then sanded the face of the plastic until it was right where I wanted it. I'm still slightly worried why I would need such a thick washer, but I don't see any reason it won't work. Has anyone else...

The CK Manual states 0.060" will give the proper band adjustment. It also recommends using a band apply pin extension, which is pressed onto the pointed end of the pin, then ground to achieve the 0.060" clearance.
