    Air Temp sensor Relocation Questions

Tip-in timing retard is strictly a function of delta TPS threshold. I think you think that knock is sensed and then the timing is retarded using the tables I presented? This is not the case. Or maybe I didn't understand your post. Just trying to be clear  Wayne

    Air Temp sensor Relocation Questions

Tip-in timing retard is known as Burst Knock Retard or BKR. You can see the parameters for its operation starting at $3384. $3384 BRR active time (the active time in a stock chip is .1 sec) $3385 TPS delta threshold to activate BKR (this is 9.8%) $3386 BKR retard for active mode (this is...

    Air Temp sensor Relocation Questions

Is anybody here saying there is no tip-in timing retard for a stock 148 ECM? Wayne

    Pre-Start Oil Lube?

When starting the engine, if you floor the gas pedal, the ECM goes into the 'clear flood' mode and the fuel to the motor is shut off. I seem to remember checking this feature out and found out that the fuel will be reinstated if you press the gas pedal to far. It seems that this feature worked...

    FP drops after a while

The purpose of the FPR is to maintain constant fuel pressure across the injectors, which means it senses the manifold vacuum/pressure and through the vacuum line that attaches to the FPR it then compensates for any variation. Everybody checks to make sure that fuel pressure tracks with boost...

    FP drops after a while

For you folks that have this problem, post what your base fuel pressure is (vacuum line disconnected), and then what does the fuel pressure go to when you reconnect the vacuum line to your FPR. Wayne

Still can't get it to fire

The crank is for fuel, the crank is for spark. You get neither (spark of fuel)until the cam sensor tells the ignition module to let the crank signal through to the ECM, which gives you fuel off the crank signal, and the cam signal also tells the ignition module to provide spark to the proper...

Time for a new coil pack, etc?

What kind of timing light do you have? Is it an inductive type where you just clamp it around the ignition wire? Does it also have a little arrow on it to indicate which way to clamp it to the wires? If so, just clamp it on the wires the opposite way on the side that's messin' up. See if that...

New TR wont register (correctly) on scantool

Here's a little tip from out of the past.....remove your low speed fan relay and see if that helps. I've got some info somewhere that I got a long time ago that details exactly what the problem is and how to correct it for a problem just like you describe. Wayne

    Creep or something else?

Sorry that I can't help with your problem, but I should at least let you know that you are my favorite poster on this board. I've learned more from you with how you try to understand how things work, and then apply that knowledge to fix a problem. Keep up the good work! :) Wayne

WOW! Have you seen the current price on this thing? I had to look up the original price from ATR and it was $59.95. Boy, is the winner gonna be pissed when he finds out you can't adjust the injector timing by moving the cam sensor....well other than 120* resolution :D Obviously, the...
