on the side it says "AIResearch" on the carb side of the turbo it says "M11" or "MII" on the side also the fins on the intake side have stuff on them, what can i use to clean them off, preferably without taking the turbo itself appart

so i have a turbo for a carb, what should i check while i have it off the motor? there dosent seem to be any shaft play in any direction, but the inside of it is really dirty (the motor sat outside for 2 years). what should i clean the fins with? should i take it appart? i am new to this forced...
