    question regarding over revving

Governor spring?? It sounds like the spring in the transmission governor has popped out. This can happen after doing a WOT burnout. The pan on the tranny has to be dropped, the governor cover removed, drop out the governor, the spring is probaly in the pan or cover, it will need to be pinned...

    Break-in period

Excellant! I love my TCI unit too. I don't race at any tracks, so using a manual valve body is not something I would consider, but am curious, does the manual valve body do away with the TV function??

    Break-in period

Hey Craig, How do you like your streetfighter tranny? I have mine behind a 461 BBC in a 70 Camaro, my rear end gearing is 3.31. My tranny shifts into 4th at 51 mph, I originally thought something was wrong, but believe now the tranny governor was set up for a steeper rear gear. I was going...

    Break-in period

I know others will differ. I installed a TCI Stretfighter 200 4R. It came with instructions that said to change the fluid and filter after the first 500 miles due to clutch and band wear in. I did an now have close to 10K miles on that tranny. Mandatory, some will say its not. But I wanted...

    2004r 12volt hookup

Its best to use a switched 12 volt source. On your fuse panel is a switched source called "IGN" just use a female electrical connector to get switched 12 volt power. Turns ON when the key is turned on. With the cooler, it depends. If the car is driven year round in cooler climates, IMHO it...

    Driven gear replacement

Where the sppedo cable conects to the tranny near the end of the tranny tail, unscrew the cable from the speedo drive, and pull it out, there is a 10mm nut retaining the speeedo driven unit (speedo bullit) into the tranny, unscrew that 10mm bolt and carefully pry out the speedo bullit, it...

    Conveter bolts

Metric Those bolts you need are metric, here is the GM part # 1261968, they are very common. They even come with thread locker allready on the threads.

    Flex Plate / TC Bolts

both ways I have seen convertors both ways, with welded on threaded bosses or a bracket that requires both bolts and lock nuts, I believe they were 3/8" but a special length, I am also sure they were a grade 8 bolt, just make sure you use metal lock nuts and not the nylon ones.

    Magnet in pan

Is there any truth to this, I was told a 200 4R tranny or a 700 4R without a magnet will then allow the ferrous material that normally collects to it, to then collect on the electro magnet of the torque convertor solinoid and eventually cause a problem?
