    Radiator renewal

Radiator Fitment This radiator looks great, and it must cool better than stock, but how close to stock dimensions is it?? I have a Precision front mount intercooler and those aluminum pipes come extremely close to the stock fan. If it is any fatter than stock I won't be able to get those IC...

    McGard Lugnuts

Thanks, I can't really visualize how the center cap is retained on the T-Type wheels, but I think it's different than the GN wheels. Anybody with stock GN wheels??

    McGard Lugnuts

I'd like to replace my crusty stock lugnuts with some solid chrome ones. Anybody used McGard Lugnuts with the stock GN wheels & centercaps? They list 2 part#s: 64002 Conical Seat, 12mm x 1.50 RH, Closed End, Chrome Plated 64012 Conical Seat Bulge, 12mm x 1.50 RH, Closed End, Chrome...

    ShurFlo switch went out!

Great, something else to worry about. Do you think it has anything to do with us cranking down on that Allen screw to raise the pressure and reduce the pulsing? I've lost track of how many turns I've got on mine. Probably too many. Julio, time to find us some gasket material to fix...

    Translator & Direct Scan question

Yeah, it's me. Still trying to figure out what my Direct Scan O2 readings should look like and whether a newer style MAF or Translator chip will help. Too cold to test so I hang here and try to get smarter...it's a long road.

    which hobbs switch?

Hobbs Update OK, have fun! BTW: Got an answer from Hobbs and their switches ARE Alky compatible: From: "Turnbull, Tom (IL29)" <Tom.Turnbull@Honeywell.com> Add to Address Book To: "'turbogto@yahoo.com'" <turbogto@yahoo.com> Subject: RE: Hobbs Corporation Website Feedback Date...

    which hobbs switch?

Yeah, I know that was SpooledStang's question, but it sounded like he hadn't used a Hobbs before and there are applications where pressure switches do see alcohol so I was just trying to give him some extra info. Last I checked all of SMC's kits have an alky compatible electric pressure...

    which hobbs switch?

Funny, I was just on the Hobbs website: http://content.honeywell.com/sensing/hss/hobbscorp/catswitch4.asp According to them, the 4 psi can go 3.1 - 7psi and the 10 psi can go 8 - 13 psi. I'll bet the 4 will go to 8 and will probably cover you. I've messed with these quite a bit...

    Translator & Direct Scan question

Man, I thought my runs were confusing to look at. I can't make heads or tails out of that one. Got a 0-100mph laying around anywhere? I sent you one of mine Thanks Pete

    Translator & Direct Scan question

2Quik6, Send me a Direct Scan file if you have one and I can tell you a lot more. TurboDave or MJRWOOD may want to chime in as they have been helping me also. From what you have said, it sounds like the Extender chip may be a good investment as I have been told that you can program it to...

    Propane to pre-spool turbo?

Good idea HurstGN. I think they are running low on material after that rocket powered Impala failed to get airborn. If you really want to know something about turbos and what works and doesn't, I'd recommend calling John Craig at Limit Engineering. He did my TE44. He really knows his...

    Propane to pre-spool turbo?

I second that cool84 Some of these ideas are kinda hard to visualize, but I can tell you from experience that injecting liquids into the inlet of a turbo compressor will make it spool slower and have less output than if it only has to compress air. Not to mention loading the intercooler...

    Translator & Direct Scan question

Thanks MJRWOOD. Do you use Direct Scan? Does Direct Scan still work with the Extender chip?? Eric has really done a super job tuning my car, so I'm reluctant to start all over. This O2 surge in the early part of the run is the only sticking point and he tells me he has another chip in...

    Translator & Direct Scan question

Thanks for the replies. I do have a recently replaced(2-3,000mile) AC Delco O2 sensor in it. I went on a major vacuum leak hunt a few months ago including plugging up the intercooler and pressurizing it to check for leaks. I tried the old GM Top Engine Cleaner in the PCV hose to...

    NOS w/alky enrichment

Julio, Did not know you were in the tank business. You keep branching out! Seriously, I would love 2 gallons, but I don't think I can squeeze it in. I'm hanging it off the front of the passenger wheelwell with half of it under the fender and 1/2 sticking out so I can get at the cap...

    Translator & Direct Scan question

Wondering if I am the only one having this problem: When looking at my O2 readings in DirectScan I always get a large jump in the O2s right as I floor the car. It stays up in the 860-880 range for 2-3 secs then slowly comes down like a ski slope until I am flatlining around 740 from...

    NOS w/alky enrichment

Jon: Alky pressure should be 10 psi above boost, assuming you're injecting it into the output side of the compressor and not the inlet. SO set your boost referenced regulator for 10 psi and let it do the rest. You could go more pressure, but you'll have to change the jetting. There is a...

    NOS w/alky enrichment

Tech dept at Nitrous Express says alcohol and NOS in a fogger is not a problem and cited numerous examples. Jetting they gave me with their Shark nozzle running 10psi over boost pressure is: 50hp: 35NOS 33Alky 75hp: 41NOS 38Alky 100hp: 52NOS 46Alky...
