My '87 has a plastic piece that runs along the bottom of the windshield. It is not perfectly flat on the window and causes the wipers to hang up when you turn them off. Any easy way to fix this ever so minor problem with out ending up with something that looks bad? Thanks

Had a shudder problem between 46 and 54, we unplugged the solenoid and the problem went away. Car ran great. We put in a new one and problem has not completely gone away, but somewhat better. What else could we but up against? What happens if I just leave it unplugged? Thanks
