WTB hydroboost. Willing to trade new vacuum booster, master cylinder, and pedal

Here’s the link:

I'm considering their kit but it's about 1200 bucks. Seeing if I can track down a hot air hydroboost or a used kit. There is a guy on ebay who sells a nice hydroboost for 600 bucks, just got to buy a mater cylinder and hoses. It'll work with stock hot air hoses which can got for cheap

I’d stay away from the hot air set up if you can. The newer Bosch units are current (not 30+ years old) & feature an accumulator on the side that hold enough pressure for 2 applications of the brakes (in the unlikely event you have a power steering failure .
Spend the money this is one area you do not want to compromise your safety !

I was going to have the unit rebuilt if I got a used hot air unit. Yes you do have good points. I'm just trying to figure out which way I'm going to go.

If it were me, I’d buy it all from one place , it will be plug n play & don’t have to run around grabbing things here & there .
That’s what I did .
HydraTech gets my vote .🤷‍♂️

Hey Kwik, that's a bad ass set up you got, looks awesome (although I prefer the powermaster setup). I also agreed with you buying new and from one vendor, makes life a lot easier. But if you put in the work in, you can sometimes achieve the same results spending a lot less $$, that being said....

Turbo, I just saw someone selling a Hydroboost on facebook for $500, you might want to check it out. I'm not vouching for the seller, I don't know him from Adam, so do your own due diligence.

I saw that post on Facebook. Looks like a scam to me as he's using the Pic off of ebay from a guy who sells these for about 600 bucks. I'm actually considering just buying the ebay one as he's a trusted vendor. You've just got to figure out your own hoses. Stick 84/85 hydroboost hoses will work on it according to him or I can make my own.

Yeah, sorry I mentioned it then. Unfortunately you have to watch your step(s) around facebook. Actually not just there, but here as well. Sometimes we get one that sneaks in, but lucky we have guys that spot them pretty fast. Ok, gl with your search.👍

The guy on FB Izaac Nelson is a good guy! I have his car right now. Doing some upgrades. He just bought it with Hydroboost installed. So he is selling his other unit which is brand new for $500 it’s the unit from eBay that the guys sells for $600 plus. It’s brand new and can be used with the braided line kit or stock 84 lines. If you are interested in it let me know I can give you his number he’s in Jersey.

Yeah get me his number if you can. I messaged him last night asking for a current Pic of it but never heard back

Got one coming from tricksix's buddy with a pump rebuilt and upgraded for hydroboost. Just need to fugure out what I'm going to do about hoses. Thanks for everyone's help

Add a PSC PS Fluid reservoir designed for HydroBoost & you will be all set!
These even have a built in filter!

Maybe someone will chime in but I wanted to ask the guys using a HB system what do you do for brakes if the motor dies while you’re driving? It happened to me a couple weekends ago driving 90mph down the highway my iccc fuse popped and I had no brakes, luckily the road was empty but if this happened in traffic I would’ve been screwed. TIA

Newer hydroboost have a built in accumulator that holds a couple extra brake pumps if your engine dies.

The stock powermaster has one too. It's that round ball on the drivers side of the booster assembly. They tend to fail and make the pump run a lot and it burns the pump out which may be what happened before your pump shorted out and blew the fuse.
