the 1978 to 1987 rear end are them same !

The 78 and 79 "A Bodys" are the first "G Body" cars. GM changed what the platform was called, not how they built it or what parts they used. Any how, I beleive you're stuck to looking at later 80s GM cars, specifically the GN, T Type, Hurst/Olds and 442. The monte SS had a 7 5/8s" rear ring...

All G Body's shared the rearend (7.5" or 8.5"), the only difference was the 8.5 required a different size driveshaft (shorter by 1 inch). Rearend Swap Tech

    Frustrations!!!!

The more I think about this, and the more you guys call it a fuel issue, the more I think I have some REALLY bad gas in the tank, and the 10gal of regular is just letting it limp..... Wish I put Stabil in the tank (when I parked it). I don't think I remembered to :(. So I'm going to drain...

    Frustrations!!!!

It's possible I guess, I'll have to try that. I'm going to swap out a brand new fuel filter. I didn't get around to the compression test today, was helping a friend with his car. But next weekend I'm doign the works, hooking up a tach, vac gauge, AFR gauge and seeing what I can figure out with...

    Frustrations!!!!

Alright, my car has been off the road, since the last time it ran I've torn into it. Everything on the top end has been removed and replaced. A set of good used heads went on, snugged down by a set of ARP head bolts. I checked the intake mani for cracks and bolted back down the edelbrock...

    Car Audio n00b questions.

Thanks for your help so far, John. (The head unit you reccomended is exactly what i want feature-wise) It's kind of rough know what I want the system to do, but not what I need. I think I will end up getting a 9885 or similar alpine with a remote control, and mounting it in the glove box, and I...

    Car Audio n00b questions.

Yeah, I live in one of the nicer parts... but everything's in such close proximity.... There was someone either on this board or somewhere else that said our cars have an appeal to a certain segment of the population. I might even mount it in the glovebox and leave the stock one in place...

    Car Audio n00b questions.

Alright I've read a lot, and I feel like it's all going over my head. I have a '79 cutlass, with the Stock 1979 shaft style AM radio. I would like to play CDs, and of course have the option to listen to FM radio. My taste in music varies... Punk Rock, Classic Rock, rap, etc, and I know each...

    Even-Fire NA Cam Listing

Glad I could help someone. And I appreciate knowing I helped. I think I'm just going to stick with the edelbrock cam, since it's "dyno matched" to the manifold i'm using. Best of luck! -Will
